My work as a Narrative Specialist grew from two things that have shaped much of my professional life: developing people and exploring how narrative helps us understand where we are and where we're heading next.

Before training as a coach, much of my life was spent in theatre — as a teacher, director and practitioner. In that world, every entrance and exit has meaning. A character must understand where they have come from and where they are going. Without that clarity, movement on stage loses its purpose.

Direction requires intention.

Over time I began to notice how similar this is to life and organisations.

Individuals and leadership teams often find themselves at moments of transition: stepping into a new role, navigating change, or sensing that a new phase is emerging. At those moments, the most valuable thing can be the opportunity to pause, reflect, and understand the stage they are really in, and the stage they are aiming for.

That is the space my work creates.

Through thoughtful conversation and careful listening, I help people explore their situation more clearly, articulate the story behind what is happening, and decide how they want to shape what comes next.

My role is not to provide answers, but to create the conditions in which clarity can emerge and decisions can be made with intention.

When people understand the stage they are in and the role they want to play, they are able to move forward authentically — shaping what happens next in a way that is both genuine and purposeful.
