Ian Tucker-Bell - Narrative Specialist
Helping people and organisations understand the stage they're in - and the one they're stepping into next.
Organisations and individuals regularly reach moments of transition.
- A change in direction.
- A new leadership role.
- A shift in priorities.
- A sense that something is ending and something new is beginning.
At times like these it can be tempting to move quickly — to announce the next step, communicate a new strategy, or simply press ahead.
But meaningful change rarely begins with action alone. Often it begins with reflection.
My work creates space for that reflection, helping people and organisations make sense of the stage they are in and the one they are stepping into next.
Through thoughtful conversation and careful listening, I help identify the questions that matter:
- What is ending?
- What is emerging?
- What needs to remain constant?
- What role do we need to play now?
When these questions are explored properly, clarity begins to emerge.
People feel heard, become more reflective, and leave conversations feeling empowered to shape what happens next.
What's stage are you stepping into next?
Ways of Working
Narrative Alignment Sessions
Structured conversations with leadership teams exploring the stage an organisation is entering and the story it needs to stand behind.
The Next Stage Programme
A short advisory programme supporting organisations as they clarify and articulate the direction they are stepping into.
Narrative Coaching
One-to-one conversations with individuals navigating leadership, transition, or change.
The Next Stage Programme
Sometimes a single conversation is not enough.
The Next Stage Programme supports organisations over a longer period as they explore and articulate the next phase of their development.
The programme unfolds through a series of thoughtful conversations that allow leaders to reflect more deeply on the direction the organisation is taking and the story that needs to support that movement.
This work may include:
- listening conversations with senior leaders
- facilitated leadership discussions
- shaping and articulating the narrative of the next stage
- preparing leaders for important moments of communication
The result is a clearer sense of direction and greater confidence in how that direction is communicated.
A simple starting point
Much of my work begins with a single question:
What stage are you really stepping into now?
If you're navigating a moment of transition and would value a thoughtful conversation, I would be very glad to hear from you.
